Using Google Drive
Getting Started:
Opening Google Documents that I have shared with you:
- You can only access Google Documents if you have a gmail account
- If your personal email is a gmail account you can use that
- If not you can create one or use your school email account (@bmchsd.org)
- Email me with the gmail account you check most often
Opening Google Documents that I have shared with you:
- Log in to your gmail account
- Select "DRIVE" from the top menu bar
- Click on the document you wish to open
- If it is a document that requires you to write in it (meeting sheet, time log, mentor letter template) NEVER TYPE IN LIVE DOCUMENT:
- Once the document is open, go to "File," then select "Download As" and Word document
- Save the document using a title you will recognize to your documents or a flash drive
- Click on the "DRIVE" tab again and select the "UPLOAD" button (small arrow button next to the one labeled "create") and select document (UNDER SETTINGS, MAKE SURE THE BOX IS CHECKED TO "CONVERT DOCUMENT TO GOOGLE DOCUMENT"- IF DONE CORRECTLY THE DOC SHOULD HAVE A BLUE BOX WITH WHITE LINES IN IT *IF IT SHOWS UP AS AN ITALICIZED "W" IT DID NOT CONVERT) *IF YOU ARE UNSURE IF YOU DID IT CORRECTLY SEE ME BEFORE TYPING IN IT!
- Once your document has uploaded, open it and type in it
- Finally,click on the "share" button in the top right-hand corner of the document and share it with me ([email protected])
